Adoption of a hybrid VCB*¹

• The number of parts in the operation mechanism has been reduced by 85% compared to our former models, and solid lubrication has been adopted for all sliding parts to achieve greaseless operation, resulting in improved reliability and safety.
• Maintainability has been improved by reduction of the number of parts and greaseless design, achieving reduced LCC*².

1. Hybrid-type VCB: A vacuum circuit breaker incorporating permanent magnets, electromagnets, and a spring-operated mechanism.
2. LCC (life-cycle cost): The whole-life cost of a product, which is the initial cost plus the running cost.

Safety

• Safety is ensured by housing the main circuit equipment, including busbars, in a solid, earthed metal container.
• Insulation is provided by nonflammable SF₆ gas.
• The insulation performance has been confirmed to withstand the system voltage even if the gas pressure drops to atmospheric pressure.

Maintainability

• Adoption of a hybrid VCB has reduced inspection work and extended inspection cycles.

Environmental performance

• Optimized storage equipment layout design and low gas pressure reduce SF₆ gas consumption by 14% compared to former models, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
